Fast Food!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a little while since I've blogged! Its been a crazy week! We are looking for a new place to rent so we have been out house hunting all week! I think we finally may have found one, so pray that we get it! :) Since its been so hectic and we have hardly been home there hasn't been much cooking going on, but guess what....if we get the house we liked I will actually have a full kitchen again!!! BIG YEY!!! :) The other night we decided to try a new place called Z Pizza in Kailua, it is slightly like a California Pizza Kitchen, and the prices are similar too! We had a ZBBQ pizza (I think thats what it was called) and a Pear and Gorgonzola Salad that was unbelievable! Here's some pictures! Hopefully it won't be so long before I blog again!
one of THE BEST salads I have had!

the walnuts were almost like candied walnuts!

Yum!!!

Chicken and Potato Soup!

Jon has been begging, yes BEGGING, me to make chicken and potato soup for about a week! So I finally stopped being lazy and decided to make it before the potatoes and chicken went bad! I got this delicious recipe from the wonderful Laura! (My Pampered Chef consultant and good friend) :) I think it has become one of Jon's favorite meals! I don't mind because it is easy to make, and doesn't require making much of a mess, or dirty dishes! Here it is....
All you need is
  • chicken
  • potatoes
  • butter
  • cream of mushroom (or cream of chicken)
  • a Pampered Chef Rice Cooker Plus (or I supposed you could make it on a stove...I haven't done that)
  • a microwave (YES, it is all made in the microwave!)
Thaw 2 or 3 strips of chicken

get a few potatoes

peel the potatoes

Get out the Pampered Chef Rice Cooker Plus

cut up some butter

throw the butter in the rice cooker plus

cut up the potatoes

throw the potatoes in the cooker with the butter

microwave for 10-12 minutes depending on your microwave

slice up the chicken

the potatoes are cooked!

throw the chicken slices in cooker with the already cooked potatoes

add a can or 2 of cream of mushroom, or cream of chicken PLUS a can or 2 of water, depending on how thick you want it

stir it up

microwave it for 10-15 minutes (depending on  your microwave, maybe less)

and Ta-da! You have your dinner! :)

Farmers Market!

Every Thursday night, they have a little Farmer's Market down the street from our house in Kailua! It is always crazy packed, but they have such good things! Many times the farmer's markets just have fruits, and vegetables for you to buy and take home to cook, NOT this one! The Kailua Farmers Market has a few booths where you can buy fresh fruits and veggies, but it is mostly food booths where you can buy pesto pizza, chili, meatloaf, curry, steak, shrimp, ginger ale, ice cream, and all sorts of yummy things! Best of all, the foods are all made from the fresh veggies, fruits, and meat products! It makes a excellent date night! Plus it is only a few blocks from the beach, you can grab your food, and go over to the beach to escape the crowds, eat, and watch the sunset!
So far, I have two favorites at the Farmers Market, the chili and rice is super yummy! My other favorite is called "Da Spot" they have different types of Indian/Moroccan food! I love the Moroccan chicken, the curry is also really good, and the tandoori chicken seems to be a favorite too! So here it is....
Tandoori Chicken and Curry combo!

Moroccan Chicken!

If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend stopping by to check it out!! The Farmers Market is held every Thursday night from 5pm-7:30pm! It is held in the bottom of the Long's parking structure!

Flower cookies!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!! Why do weekends have to be soooo short? I had my May Scentsy party yesterday and it went really well! :) My theme was April showers bring May flowers, so I made sugar cookies, and attempted (yes, attempted!) to decorate them with "flowers"! Here's how it went!

They were quite yummy! And the party went great! Here are some party pictures!

Kitchen and Pie!!

Happy Friday the 13th Everyone! :)

Today I "borrowed" my parents kitchen, which is WAAAYYY better than mine! It was a blast! I made a few dozen cookies and yogurt pie! I was doing some prep for my party tomorrow! I am also an Independent Scentsy Consultant so every month I host a open house for that, and this months happens to be tomorrow! whoo hoo!! Tomorrow's blog will show the outcome of the party prep and snacks! :) If you are in the area come check it out! :) For those of you who don't know what scentsy is, check out my site, CHECK IT OUT! It is pretty awesome! Anyway...here are some pictures of my parents fabulous kitchen!
one of two ovens!

the "island"

this is only one side of the kitchen! Look at all that SPACE!!
Today, I made yogurt pie....for those of you who haven't heard of it, it is the perfect quick pie to bring to Spring bbq's! It is simple, easy to make, and can actually be healthy! I made the healthy version! Here it it....
Take 2 yogurts (Light or Regular)

16 oz of cool whip (fat free or regular)

Put the together in a bowl....

mix them up!
make your own or get a pre-made graham cracker pie crust

Pour the yogurt, cool whip mixture into the pie crust

Cover

Refrigerate!  (4+hours recommended, I do at least 24!)
And there you have it! It is as simple as that! You can pick any yogurt flavor you want and enjoy! It is a refreshinly yummy treat for hot spring/summer days!

Stay tuned next time to check out the party snacks! And to watch the pie disappear!
