4th of July Jello Cake!

Once again I was feeling quite festive with tomorrow being the 4th of July! I still haven't gotten any decorations for the house, but there was definitely lots of cake decorating going on! This is a really easy, yummy, festive recipe and can pretty much be done for any occasion with minor adjustments! All you need is a white cake mix (I like the funfetti ones if you want to be extra festive, but any white cake mix will work!), apple sauce, a box of jello mix, and frosting! Here is it!
all you need....

substitute apple sauce for the vegetable oil

mix it all up!

add in the candy bits

mix it all up!

spread cake mix in pan....

bake and then let cool!

after cooling poke holes in the cake with a fork....

add the hot water to the jello mix...

mix it up

poke holes all over the top of the cake....

pour jello mix over cake

stick it in the refrigerator for a few minutes (I usually do 10-20)

Once cooled in refrigerator, flip cake onto a dish platter

get to ready to frost!

frost it nice and good!

use easy frost to decorate around the edges in desired color

add desired wording

add sprinkles and any other desired toppings....

slice and serve!

its like a festive explosion!

between the jello and candy bits it gets quite colorful!
It is perfect for any holiday or special occasion!
